I. Body Image
As you have been working through module two, do you think your body image has changed at all? Are you willing to accept yourself as you are right now by saying "I approve of myself"?
Body image is your perception of how you look. You could have adopted someone else's belief of what the "perfect" body should look like. If a woman carries extra pounds on her and cures the world of cancer do you think anyone is going to be thinking that she is worthless because of her weight? No way! If a man who carries extra weight on him saves his neighbor by using CPR on him after he fell from a heart attack is anyone going to be thinking he is worthless because of his appearance. It is the belief of a world that purchases magazines and let me tell you, there are more and more magazines coming out right now, like O (Oprah) that portray people the way they really are.
It is becoming more and more acceptable to just be "you" and be someone that you can be proud of no matter what is going on with your physical presence. By loving yourself in all ways possible (mind, body, spirit) you can begin to treat yourself better.
Let's try this: "I accept myself the way I am today. I am truly gifted. I can begin to take better care of my physical body as I heal my mind, body and spirit together."
What are you feeling? How else can we respect ourselves and not fall into the "I have to be perfect" category?
